ANN ARBOR—Joel M. Piper of Jackson, Mich., and Constantine D. Hatzis of Bayside, N.Y., have received Competitive Edge scholarships funded by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., for the 1997-98 school year.

Piper is a graduate of Jackson High School with a 4.0 grade point average and will enroll in the University of Michigan College of Engineering this fall.

Hatzis graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City with a 4.0 grade point average and will major in aerospace engineering in the U-M College of Engineering.
