Top authors read their works at Visiting Writers Series
ANN ARBOR—Writer Miles Harvey will share his work during a free reading as part of the University of Michigan’s Visiting Writers Series this week.
Harvey will read at 5 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 8), at Hale Auditorium. He is the author of “The Island of Lost Maps,” a non-fiction retelling of a map thief. Harvey’s writing career began when, at 15, he began writing sports stories for his hometown paper in Downers Grove, Ill.
Since then, he has worked in the Washington, D.C. bureau of the Los Angeles Times, written TV and radio stories for United Press International, and served as the managing editor of In These Times magazine. Harvey holds a masters of fine arts in English and creative writing from the U-M.
