Two Romanian Business Journalists Have Been Named Journalism Fellows
ANN ARBOR— Two leading Romanian business journalists have been named Michigan Journalism Fellows under sponsorship by the William Davidson Institute, an independent educational institute at the University of Michigan School of Business Administration.
They will each pursue individualized studies under grants that cover all tuition costs and provide a stipend of

Snyder,Davidson Institute director. ” We are confident that this year’s fellowship recipients will play significant roles. ”
Laurentiu Ilie, 27, founded Bursa, Romania’s leading financial weekly, shortly after the revolution that toppled Communist boss Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989. At U-M, he will study management practices.
Catalin Dimofte, 32, edits Adevarul Economic, the weekly business supplement of Romania’s leading daily. He plans to concentrate on total quality management and the interaction of companies with environmental issues.
The Davidson Fellows will join 12 American journalists and others from Japan and Korea in the Michigan Journalism Fellows program.
