U-M alumni club hosts auto industry outlook in Birmingham

EVENT: Unprecedented change has altered the landscape of the automotive market. The sector is unstable and fluid. Competent new players, manufacturing choke points, worldwide overcapacity, future hiring needs and mileage standards necessitate change and, in many instances, will drive development of new technologies.
David E. Cole is a founder and chairman of AutoHarvest. An authority on automotive industry trends and chairman emeritus of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Cole has successfully collaborated in the start-up of five companies. His technical and policy consulting experience includes diverse assignments for industry, labor and national and international governments.
Cole will provide his outlook on the industry with perspectives on how firms can gain a competitive advantage.
COST: $30 for members, $50 for nonmembers. Includes hors d’oeuvres and reception 6-7 p.m., presentation and Q&A 7-8 p.m., and networking 8-9 p.m.
