EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

DATE: 8-9 a.m. April 12, 2012.

EVENT: Business Incubation as a Regional Resource for Shiawassee County Entrepreneurs.

The University of Michigan’s Center for Business Acceleration and Incubation Studies and Baker College of Owosso will present a town hall meeting to evaluate regional interest in a business incubation program and/or facility in the Shiawassee County region.

The Shiawassee County Business Incubator Initiative will survey area entrepreneurs, small business owners and students interested in being involved with a regional incubator. These surveys will help assess the feasibility of an incubator and determine the programmatic and facility resources an incubator should offer in the Shiawassee County region.

The Shiawassee County Business Incubator Initiative is supported with a grant from the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development. Baker College of Owosso and U-M’s CBAIS are working with a steering committee comprised of leaders from the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce, the MI-SBTDC, the City of Owosso, the Lansing Economic Area Partnership, Fifth Third Bank, the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership, and members of private industry, who provide insight on all project phases.

PLACE: Baker College of Owosso’s Welcome Center Conference Room B, 1309 South M-52, Owosso, Mich.

INFORMATION: To RSVP, contact Randy Paape of Baker College of Owosso at (989) 729-3381 or [email protected], or Carmen Wells Quigg of U-M’s Center for Business Acceleration and Incubation Studies at (734) 998-7016 or [email protected].
