EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: 3-6 p.m. Oct. 4, 2016
EVENT: The 16th annual Celebrate Invention event honors University of Michigan researchers who contributed to another outstanding year of inventions, patents, agreements and startups for fiscal year 2016.
University leaders and members of the local entrepreneurial and venture capital communities will be among those honoring the contributions of U-M inventors.
“This annual free event attracts 300-400 people who learn, get inspired and have fun in this stimulating environment,” said Kenneth Nisbet, associate vice president for research-technology transfer. “Enjoy meeting new and old friends and colleagues as you view technology kiosks that illustrate the breadth and depth of the innovations derived from U-M research.”
Some examples include:
- Genomenon, marketing genome interpretation software to dramatically improve the speed and reliability of genome sequencing data.
- Arborsense, developing a more reliable, wearable alcohol detection technology.
- Priori, a smartphone-enabled tool for the early detection of bipolar episodes.
