U-M conference will feature U.S. and state economic forecasts

EVENT: University of Michigan’s 62nd annual Economic Outlook Conference

PLACE: Rackham Building Amphitheater, 915 E. Washington St., Ann Arbor

U-M economists Daniil Manaenkov and Matthew Hall will open the conference with “The U.S. Economic Outlook for 2015-2016” at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 20. Richard Curtin, director of the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers at the Institute for Social Research, will also present “The Outlook for Consumption in 2015” at 11 a.m.

The next day (Nov. 21) at 9:30 a.m., U-M economists George Fulton, Joan Crary and Donald Grimes will present “The 2015-2016 Outlook for the Michigan Economy.”

  • “The Future of Detroit Urban Governance” by Kevin Orr, emergency manager of the city of Detroit.
  • “Economic Shocks, Chronic Distress, and Urban Economic Resilience” by Hal Wolman, professor of political science, public policy and public administration at George Washington University.
