ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ed St. John, the University of Michigan’s Algo D. Henderson Collegiate Professor of Higher Education, and Pamela Moss, professor of education, have been selected as 2010 American Educational Research Association Fellows.

St. John?s work concentrates on public policies that promote equity in higher education and professional education. Moss?s work focuses on validity theory in educational assessment, assessment as a social practice, and the assessment of teaching.

The AERA Fellows Program was established to honor education researchers with substantial research accomplishments, to convey the association’s commitment to excellence in research, and to emphasize to new scholars the importance of sustained research of excellence in the field.

Previous U-M education faculty selected as AERA fellows include education professors David Cohen, Jacquelynne Eccles, Magdalene Lampert, Wilbert McKeachie, Kevin Miller Frederick Morrison, Annemarie Palincsar and Scott Paris.

The Program is intended to recognize excellence in research and be inclusive of the scholarship that constitutes and enriches education research as an interdisciplinary field. Fellows are nominated by their peers, selected and recommended by the Fellows Committee, and approved by the AERA Council, the Association’s elected governing group.
