U-M film series: “Who are the Midnight’s Children?”

ANN ARBOR—A series of Indian-produced film dramas will provide insight and background into the Royal Shakespeare Company’s U.S. premiere of Salman Rushdie’s “Midnight’s Children.” The series, titled “Who are the Midnight’s Children?” continues at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays through March 8 in the University of Michigan’s Natural Science Auditorium located at 830 N. University Ave. Admission is free. The dramas portrayed in the films represent contemporary South Asia’s cultural, political and religious backgrounds. Question and Answer sessions accompany each screening. All screenings have English subtitles. —Jan. 25 “Garam Hawa” (Hot Winds) 1973
