U-M Ford School Dean Susan Collins at Federal Reserve meeting in Jackson Hole

EVENT: The annual meeting of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Jackson Hole, Wyo., brings together about 125 academics, policy leaders and financial industry experts in a meeting of the minds on monetary and financial issues.

The theme of this year’s conference is unconventional monetary policy in a global environment.

Susan Collins, dean of the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, is attending for the fifth time this year and is available for media interviews. Collins is on the board of directors of the Detroit Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Her area of expertise is international economics, including issues in macroeconomics and trade. Collins is a nonresident senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at Brookings, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and president of the Association for Professional Schools of International Affairs.

She received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University in 1980 and her doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984.
