U-M hosts conference on the Central Bank of the Future
EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, and 9 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019
EVENT: A free, public conference on the “Central Bank of the Future” will discuss how central banks are playing an increasingly important role in financial inclusion. Topics include technology and financial inclusion, digital currencies, distributive ledgers and cross-border payments, and anti-money laundering practices.
Speakers and attendees include individuals from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, central banks and other financial regulators from around the world, policymakers, fintech executives and other financial ecosystem stakeholders.
Keynote speakers featured are: Jennifer Tescher, president and CEO of Financial Health Network; Mary Ellen Iskenderian, president and CEO of Women’s World Banking; and a closing conversation between Stefan Ingves, governor of Sweden’s central bank, and Njuguna Ndung’u, former governor of the Central Bank of Kenya.
