U-M offers free e-waste recycling to public

EVENT: The University of Michigan’s free e-waste recycling event is designed to help area residents, small businesses and nonprofits dispose of electronics in an environmentally responsible way.
MEDIA: Saturday’s event is part of a three-day recycling event and is the best opportunity to capture photos and video footage of piles of electronic waste being recycled by the community.
Since 2008, the event has filled a combined total of 149 semi-trailers and diverted a total of 1,782 tons of electronic waste from local landfills. It is estimated that more than 7,500 cars will drop off materials to recycle this year.
PLACE: Pioneer High School, 601 W. Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor. The entrance is on Main Street at the first entrance south of West Stadium.
