U-M’s Joe White to discuss restoring credibility of U.S. business leaders
ANN ARBOR—B. Joseph White, the Wilbur K. Pierpont Collegiate Professor of Business Administration at the University of Michigan Business School, will deliver the 36th annual William K. McInally Memorial Lecture at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Business School’s Hale Auditorium. The topic of the free, public talk is “Post-Bubble, Post-Scandals: Restoring the Credibility of American Business Leadership.” White was dean of the U-M Business School for 10 years beginning in 1991 and served as interim president of the University in 2001-2002. From 1992 until last year, he also was president of the William Davidson Institute, where he is now a senior fellow. White joined the faculty at the U-M Business School in 1975 before leaving to become an officer of Cummins Engine Co. in 1981. He rejoined the Business School in 1987 as associate dean. The McInally Lecture began in 1966 in memory of William K. McInally, who served on the U-M Board of Regents from 1960 until 1964. Past speakers include Madeleine Albright, Andrew Young, Martha Seger, William Rukeyser and F. Lee Bailey.
