U-M Spring Commencement to be held May 3

DATE: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025
EVENT: The University of Michigan Class of 2025 celebrates commencement at Michigan Stadium. Graduate procession into the stadium will be 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with the ceremony at 10 a.m. that ends around noon.
Derek Jeter, Hall of Fame Major League Baseball player, entrepreneur and philanthropist, will be the main speaker. He has been recommended for an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Others recommended for honorary degrees are:
- Jeffrey E. Cappo, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Doctor of Laws
- France A. Córdova, academic leader and acclaimed astrophysicist, Doctor of Science
- Victor J. Dzau, distinguished physician and medical researcher, Doctor of Science
Dzau will deliver the address at the Rackham Graduate Exercises on May 2.
