ANN ARBOR— The University of Michigan Office of
Financial Aid will send two of its staff members to
participate in the USA Today Admissions and Financial Aid
Hot Line in November.

Thom Johnson and Diane Hunt will travel to Washington,
D.C., to answer questions called in by high school students
and their parents on college admissions and financial aid
practices.

“The Hot Line is a good starting point for people who
are seeking information about college admission and
financial aid,” said Johnson, who will be participating for
the third year. He advises potential students to “apply
for financial aid, even if you’re not sure you’re eligible.
You never know.”

According to Vickie Crupper, assistant director for
the U-M Office of Financial Aid, participation in the Hot
Line is rotated among the staff. “Thom is a seasoned staff
member, and Diane, although new to the University, is
extremely eloquent and well-versed in her field.”

The Hot Line will be held Nov. 9-11, from 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. For information call Mark Selva, (202) 478-5679. The
actual hot-line number will not be available until the week
before the Hot Line.
