U-M students compete in business team project event

DATE: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 12, 2014
EVENT: The Spotlight! Team Project Showcase Scholarship Competition features the work of 89 University of Michigan students who collaborated on 35 projects at major companies this summer.
The student teams will present their team projects that solved operations and manufacturing problems at their sponsoring companies in several sessions. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
A few of this year’s sponsoring companies include Amazon, Boeing, Cardinal Health, DTE Energy, W.W. Grainger, Raytheon and Sunset Produce. The students will compete for approximately $35,000 in scholarships.
Last year’s Spotlight! Team projects saved participating companies a projected $500 million over three years.
PLACE: Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel, 3200 Boardwalk Drive, Ann Arbor
SPONSOR: U-M Tauber Institute for Global Operations, a joint venture between the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering and many industry partners to facilitate cross-disciplinary education in global operations management.
