U-M students compete in operations team project event

EVENT: The Spotlight! Team Project Showcase and Scholarship Competition features the work of 73 University of Michigan business and engineering graduate students who collaborated on 31 projects at major companies this summer.
The student teams will present their projects that solved operations and manufacturing problems at their sponsoring companies in several sessions. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
New company sponsors include AM General and Target Corp. The students will compete for approximately $35,000 in scholarships.
The day includes remarks from Mary-Ann Mycek, associate dean for at U-M’s College of Engineering; Joel Tauber, benefactor of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations; and Scott DeRue, dean of the Ross School of Business.
Last year’s Spotlight! Team projects saved participating companies a projected $460 million over three years.
