U-M students receive architecture awards.
ANN ARBOR— Five students received Undergraduate
Awards from the University of Michigan’s A. Alfred Taubman
College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
A fire station design by Jeff Jordan, from Laingsburg,
Mich., won for “understanding of different scales of space
and construction; clear understanding of different orders
of space.”
The live/work studio project by David Rhoese of West
Bloomfield, Mich., received an award for “adventurous
breaking out of the box; perhaps not architecture to build
and live in, but a very good understanding of dynamic form;
drawings well represent fluid concept.”
Adam Clous of Cadillac, Mich., won the Construction
drawing award.
Wairimu Njugana of Nairobi, Kenya, received an award
for his housing project, which illustrated an
“understanding of positive/negative space restriction/explosion; solid organization framework.”
A design for a recreation center by Geoffery Harker of
West Branch, Iowa, won for a “good understanding of space,
excellent development work.”
