U-Michigan commencement April 30
EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016. Stadium opens at 8 a.m. The graduate procession into the stadium begins at 8:45 a.m.
EVENT: Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an internationally known business leader and statesman, will deliver the University of Michigan’s spring commencement address.
Bloomberg, who now serves the United Nations as its secretary-general’s special envoy for cities and climate change, revolutionized information technology in 1981 when he founded Bloomberg L.P. and unveiled the Bloomberg Terminal, which organizes and analyzes real-time financial and economic data.
He will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree and is one of five individuals recommended for honorary degrees.
PLACE: Michigan Stadium, 1201 S. Main St., Ann Arbor.
MEDIA CHECK-IN: Credentials will be available beginning at 8 a.m. at the media check-in table at the tunnel entrance on the east side of the stadium. Bring media identification. Media planning to attend should contact Bernie DeGroat at [email protected] by noon Thursday, April 28.
PARKING: Limited media parking at the stadium is available. Request a permit with your RSVP.
AUDIO: An audio multbox will be available for media. A riser on the field for videographers and photographers will be approximately 70-to-80 feet from the stage.
