U-M’s Wege Lecture features Ayana Elizabeth Johnson on climate action, social justice

EVENT: “Expanding the Base for Climate Action and Social Justice,” a conversation with Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, a marine biologist, climate policy expert and writer.
DETAILS: The 20th Peter M. Wege Lecture will be moderated by Sara Hughes, assistant professor at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, and includes a Q&A with students and the community.
Johnson is the co-founder of Urban Ocean Lab, a think tank for coastal cities, and the climate initiative The All We Can Save Project. She also is co-creator of the podcast “How to Save a Planet,” which discusses climate solutions, and is a recipient of the Stephen H. Schneider Award from Climate One, which recognizes a natural or social scientist for excellence in science communication.
The Wege Lecture is typically held each fall. A second lecture has been added this year to mark the 30th anniversary of the U-M Center for Sustainable Systems, which co-sponsors the event.
