Walmart’s chief sustainability officer to speak at Ross
EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: Noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016
EVENT: Kathleen McLaughlin, Walmart’s chief sustainability officer, will speak about how companies are increasingly finding themselves at a convergence of issues: social, economic and environmental.
She’ll discuss how Walmart has learned that lasting change requires collective action to reshape social and environmental systems, and that the most viable programs are those that create shared value, value for business and society. This is a real step forward in making the business case that a company can make or save money by doing good and by motivating partners and other businesses to do the same.
Her visit is part of the Erb Institute C-Suite Speaker Series, which brings senior company and nonprofit executives to campus to share strategies and real-life experiences in managing sustainability risks and leveraging new business opportunities.
PLACE: U-M’s Ross School of Business, Robertson Auditorium, 701 Tappan Ave., Ann Arbor
