ANN ARBOR—Weather and climate experts from the University of Michigan are available to discuss snowstorms. They include:Frank Marsik, an assistant research scientist in the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences, can discuss the conditions it takes to make a major winter storm. Marsik says climate change is unlikely to be the culprit for this severe predicted storm. “On a season-to-season basis, other factors like our recent transition from El Nino conditions to La Nina conditions probably offer a better clue,” said Marsik, who teaches the department’s weather forecasting class.
