EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

DATE: 6-7 p.m., Feb. 19, 2013

EVENT: Walter Robb, co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, is a featured speaker for the University of Michigan Ross School of Business’ Positive Leaders Series, part of the Ross School’s mission to develop leaders to make a positive difference in the world.

The series format will be a dialogue with the Ross community, driven by what the Ross community wants to talk about, rather than pre-polished presentations. Robb also will take questions via Twitter (hashtag: #rosstalks).

Robb joined Whole Foods in 1991 operating the Mill Valley, Calif., store until he became president of the Northern Pacific Region in 1993 where he grew the region from two to 17 stores. He became executive vice-president of operations in 2000, chief operating officer in 2001 and co-president in 2004. In 2010, Robb was named co-CEO along with John Mackey and joined the Whole Foods Market board of directors.

An avid organic advocate, Robb is on the advisory board for the Organic Center for Education and Promotion. He is also on the Board of Regents for the University of the Pacific. Robb is on the board of directors for both the Whole Planet Foundation and the Retail Industry Leaders Association. He serves as chairman of the board for the Whole Kids Foundation.
