Women of Color Task Force hosts annual career conference
DATE: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 27; early registration until Feb. 19, 2009.
EVENT: The Women of Color Task Force will host its 27th annual career conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Enhancing U: Education, Empowerment and Equity.”
The keynote speaker is Howard G. Adams, founder and president of H.G. Adams and Associates, Inc., a consulting and training company that specializes in assisting colleges and universities in developing the academic, personal, career and professional skills of their students and staff. He will speak during the 8:30 a.m. session.
The conference, which is open to the public, offers professional, financial and personal development workshops, a networking luncheon and an exhibit area featuring vendors. Last year, about 700 people attended the event, making it one of the largest staff conferences on the University of Michigan campus.

FEE: The cost for current U-M staff, faculty, students and alumni is $45 for the conference and $55 to attend both the conference and luncheon. The cost for non-U-M employees is $75 (conference only) and $95 conference with the luncheon. After Feb. 19, attendees can register for the conference via fax or in person; however, registration for the luncheon is closed after Feb. 19.
Onsite registration the day of the conference will include an additional $15 administrative charge.
