Inventors honored at U-M’s Celebrate Invention event

EVENT: The 18th annual Celebrate Invention highlights the 484 inventions reported by University of Michigan researchers in FY2018. It also features networking with business, venture, university and community leaders.
The event includes examples of U-M technology at work in kiosks where you can meet members of U-M’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Mingyan Liu, professor and entrepreneur specializing in communication networks and predictive analytics, and chair of the Department Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the College of Engineering will be awarded the 2018 U-M Distinguished Innovator Award during the event.
Also, from 1-3 p.m., panel discussions and a funding fair have been added for the first time. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Director Andrei Iancu will lead a panel discussion about the future of the patent system, and Liu will lead a data science commercialization panel.
